The previous trainees were all fired from stealing from the company. You feel like there is more to the story, but continue your day and train the new employee. Your manager asks you to show the new employee the cleaning procedure for the bathrooms. As you come back from the bathrooms, you see that your manager is doing something at the registers and when he sees you he quickly leaves. It seems a little strange that he was touching the register since he is so adamant about having only one cashier to a register, however he is the manager so you let it go. In this case, you sta rt to wonder if the manager would just set you up for stealing just like the previous employees and you decide to keep quite while many more employees get fired before the manager finally gets caught for his unethical practices. Everyone at one time or another will encounter an ethical or moral obligation in his or her life. While business ethics can be debatable, it is defined as a general perception in a ââ¬Å"utilitarianâ⬠approach of common good for most people such as guidelines and rules that when faced with an ethical dilemma they can assist in making a good choice concerning moral obligation, character, responsibility, and social justice. Adventures in a Lifetime Free Essays
Definition Essay Adventures in a Lifetime ââ¬Å"An exciting or very unusual experience. â⬠This is how the English Dictionary defines the word adventure. Many people may define it in a different way, but not a single person is wrong. We will write a custom essay sample on Adventures in a Lifetime or any similar topic only for you Order Now Adventure isnââ¬â¢t boring, nor is it exciting. It is but both at the same time, intertwining between the two. Adventure is exploring the unknown, and doing things a person isnââ¬â¢t normally comfortable with. But, it also doesnââ¬â¢t have to be hanging on a rope off the side of a mountain. It can be anything from facing new challenges in school, to living off the land for 3 months in the woods. Itââ¬â¢s seizing new opportunities, testing our resources against the unknown, and in the process, discovering our own sole potential. It can be falling in love, getting your heart broken, and surviving the whole experience, even though it was so grim at the time. Living through an experience that makes a difference in your life, no matter how small, can be the biggest adventure of them all. One of the biggest adventures we all know about is Christopher Columbus who sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in 1492. He hoped to find a route to India in order to trade with others but ended up on this foreign land, America. His adventure was sailing to a new land, but making it a larger adventure without meaning to. Why do we say he went on an adventure? Not because he went out of his comfort zone, but because he went someplace he has never been before and had an experience where he learned many new things. It may not be as immense as Columbus did, but we have all adventured hundreds of times in our life, whether we know it or not. Even if itââ¬â¢s just something fresh to learn, or going someplace never explored, everybody has completed it. Going on an adventure means being bold, venturesome, brave, and daring. Does that mean someone has to go skydiving or scuba diving hundreds of feet into the ocean? Absolutely not. Adventure doesnââ¬â¢t even have to be a physical act; it can be a light inside the body that comes out a little more each day. Adventure is not having a routine every single day nor is it thinking about what you will do next. Itââ¬â¢s living through every day and experiencing something new in the hours we are given. It can be from walking into the darkest cave known to man, to frolicking through the most colorful valley of flowers in the world. Every step in a personââ¬â¢s life is a new adventure he or she has conquered, and every new adventure is a new stepping stone ultimately reaching your final and optimal destination. Adventure is living life and experiencing it to its upmost capacity. It can be exploring oneself in ways nobody else can. Gandhi is a perfect example of looking inside oneself and making it into an adventure. He explored inside his soul to know what he thought was right and to find what he really wanted to do to make a difference in otherââ¬â¢s lives. He took those feelings and made it into a lifelong adventure of freeing others from the British rule as well as to better the lives of Indiaââ¬â¢s poorest classes. He went through countless adventures, ranging from great to minor. How to cite Adventures in a Lifetime, Papers

The Fray- The Fray free essay sample
After their smash hits ââ¬Å"Over My Head (Cable Car)â⬠and ââ¬Å"How To Save A Lifeâ⬠, the music world anxiously waited for the sophomore release of the Soft Rock/Alternative group The Fray. Straight out of Boulder, Colorado, the four quietly collaborated on their new album, and as anticipation mounted, finally, the single ââ¬Å"You Found Meâ⬠was released. But I calmly waited, until the release of the album to really get my feel for their music. As soon as I popped in the cd into my stereo, something screamed ââ¬Å"yesâ⬠to me. ââ¬Å"Syndicateâ⬠broke through the speakers, with a soft piano beginning, and suddenly, Isaac Sladeââ¬â¢s beautiful lyrics leaked, blending into the soft, yet upbeat background, bringing the song from average to amazing with the addition of raw lyrics of love and loss. The single, ââ¬Å"You Found Meâ⬠creeps through the speakers with a mix of a bittersweet emotion. It moves quickly, but with an intensity that stirs you, talking about keeping faith in the hardest of situations, with a perfect blend of his brash and crooning, yet soft voice, over the classic piano and guitar cake mix. We will write a custom essay sample on The Fray- The Fray or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page You canââ¬â¢t go wrong. As you get deeper into the album, youââ¬â¢re classic mix becomes shaken, providing more raw, hard- hitting lyrics, deeper metaphors and more of an experimental sound, providing the kaleidoscope of emotions and perspectives. ââ¬Å"Enough for Nowâ⬠talks from a ââ¬Å"looking through a snow globeâ⬠perspective, about a father and his daughter. It bleeds like a new cut, with pain and reflection, bitter and happy memories. ââ¬Å"Ungodly hourâ⬠Begins with soft acceptance, of love lost, ââ¬Å"I am short on words, knowing words that could, and she begins to leave because of me. Her bag is now much heavier, I wish that I could carry her. But this is our ungodly hour.â⬠Addressing the moment of breaking, of a heart broken, and ultimately, bringing it down to Earth in a style that only The Fray could do. Finally, to wrap up the already super album, the guys show us one last glance of their many different faces. ââ¬Å"Happinessâ⬠begins with purely acoustic guitar, and suddenly with the first croon of Isaacââ¬â¢s sorrowful voice, youââ¬â¢re curious, wanting more. Itââ¬â¢s a song for the understanding and wise, or the ones looking for wisdom, full of paradoxes from the first ââ¬Å"Happiness feels a lot like sorrowâ⬠to ââ¬Å"Gone for now, feels a lot gone for goodâ⬠. But in reflection, the song is a masterpiece in its own right, summing up the album with perfection, like dessert after a fulfilling meal. The Fray stayed within the boundaries of a Coldplay- style place, but left the comfort zone and into the stratosphere lyrically. And with a blend of classic cool and individuality, The Fray set the bar a little higher for soft rock acts everywhere, with their homemade lyrics and natural sound, its nothing to frown on. In a world of fake, The Fray gives me hope that some still care about the music and not the material.
